cool tools on net
cool tools i found on net
BTIS : Live traffic conditions
shows you road congestion level .. in real time
too bad it is currently only for a limited portion of bangalore .. Hyd too can use something similar
allows you to send free sms to any phone in India ..
tried out .. good but limited functionality with same old issues about replying, a very important part of a meaningful conversation.
a good sub for yahoo's "BUZZ" though

a cool thing .. for a change you can not only take part in a survey but create your own .. and bug others with it. poll feature on orkut serves good purpose .. for you to decide what suits you.
didnt find this one too amusing initially but a colleague was too happy to see this .. as if he wanted something like this for ages so thought there mite be others like him

revisitng college
Visited college yesterday. We were invited as members of the alumni to interact with an accredition committee that was inspecting the college. WOOW
and look at the bhav we got. We were 4 people(gopi ravi tej kau and me) and the great pink qualis was arranged for us from LB nagar to college. and I sat in Siva reddy sir's fav place .. hehe just to get the feel.
On our way we were told by driver srinivas reddy about the many changes that we should expect in the college now. And we couldn't be warned less.
there is pakka concrete on the path in front of the main building .. but only on the one way. each and every tree has been painted with n number of stripes. There were the usual flags of the CVR fort.
There is a brand new library block which was under consruction when we left just beside the main building. Got no photo of it from the outside. From the inside looks all the same.
are total 3 levels of which currently 2 are being used.
and we were also lucky enuf to spot a kaushik inspired GRE aspirant writing down each word from barrons.
btw those are kaushik and amar in the photo.
we met old faculty
KC (stld) he finally confessed that he realized what we were joking about when he was showing how a rotor moves inside a motor with a live example and said that he didnt dare to show the same example in any other class.
NT madam said she remebered us and ofcourse still prayed in front of srirams photo :P. well it seems she has preserved a new year greeting card that was given by us. Man did we really ??
situ went past us once but we made the best possible anjaan.
meanwhile madhu and siddhart had joined. apparently siva reddy had called them up and was repeatedly thanking them for coming :)
another change is the canteen .. new party of manager but food still sucks (i guess it will always) we didnt have any choice apart from plate meals so cant say much .
one notable change was the seating .. totally revamped and looks posh.
the actual meet was not mch to talk about. There was a well decorated bench of proffessors representing all the major IITs and NITs and furthur. and we were almost 10-15 sravanti and naarjuna had joined us and the rest were 05 passouts. They were only interested in knowing what complaints we had about the college. We did manage to control ourselves a lot and covered up alot of ass for the college. I know some of u mite be saying that this is a huge opportunity missed but i guess when we are really asked about our college it is hard to bad mouth it before a thrid party. and it is true for all of us. We hav a kind of relation with the college.

swanky new flat screens in labs. This is a new lab but i saw such screens in our mecca lab in the main building too (beside siva reddy's old room)
there wasnt a single wall without such childish posters. This one is spectacular.
look at this poor dude. lost in deep thought .. it seems he had some lafda in the morn and sad coz of that .. didnt even say hello to us.
btw i didnt even mention on the sidelines there was wipro's recruitment going on for the 08 passouts. and really felt like just another thing going on in the college.some 300 guys wrote the exam of which 180 would be appearing for interviews. come a long way from days when CTS was anticipated for months and the disappointment was lingering for another few months.

DIGG --- dig out the news for others
This is a new cool web tool i am discovering. It is a list of news articles which are sorted by number of recommendations made by others users just like me. Gives me a lot of relevant information to read through and assures that what i am getting is the latest buzz.
This sounds like competition to my trusted news source Google news. It is very radical in it's own right. Sources stories right from where they are generated (news portal) and right when they are generated. Sorts them on categories and eliminates duplication to a large extent.
Although I am still exploring Digg. One thing that is not clear is how do stories get started initially. It is very easy for stories to get more diggs once they get noticed in most-popular pages.
I guess this will require a combination of both these tools. Go through google news to look for latest happenings. Find that useful and relevant go ahead a digg them.

this figure made me smile the other day when i saw this on the display of the petrol-pump.
this is how many liters i got for the 100rs i gave.
For the first time since i have been filling up for myself did it is go past 2.
But anyways it was all nulled and voided just moments later when i got stuck in a massive jam coz our asshole CM or some other asshole (equally "very important") had the khujli to pass thru that route at 830 in the evening
PS: one particular santa singh wont be able to share my joy
Petrol ke rate badhne par Santa bola: "Menu koi farak nahin penda. Pehle bhi
